Kuanria, around 50 kilometers from Nayagarh, consists of a large reservoir surrounded by blue hillocks and a 1.5-kilometer-long dam across the River Kuanria. A vast deer park extending over 6 acres near the river basin is one of the major attractions. There are roughly 160 spotted deer, barking deer, and sambar in the park. During the winter, a great number of migrating birds converge to this reservoir. The serene beauty of the hills, river, woodlands, and deer park make the area a popular tourist destination. Tourists can get medical help at the closest hospitals, CHC Madyakhanda and CHC Dasapalla. The nearest bank to the location is SBI Dasapalla.

Chandipur
Chandipur is a beach in Odisha’s Balasore district. The beach is around 16 kilometers from the Balasore Railway Station and is located on the Bay of Bengal’s shore. The beach is remarkable in that during the ebb tide, the sea recedes up to 5 kilometers. The beach encourages biodiversity because of its unique setting. Horseshoe crab can also be seen on the beach near Mirzapur, a nearby fishing market and village at the Budhabalanga River’s confluence (Balaramgadi). It’s a great area for a picnic. Defence Ministry (MoD) :
At Abdul Kalam Island, formerly known as Wheeler Island, the Indian Strategic Forces Command’s Integrated Test Range (ITR) is also located in Chandipur. The ITR has tested and fired a number of Indian missiles, including the nuclear-capable Prithvi, Agni, and Shaurya ballistic missiles, as well as the Akash and Barak 8 surface-to-air missiles.
Transport :
Traveling up to Baleswar by rail or road and then boarding a bus, auto, or taxi to Chandipur is possible. National Highway 16 provides access to Baleswar (NH-16). Kolab Dam
Kolab Dam is a gravity dam in the Koraput district of Odisha, India, near Jeypore. The dam impounds the Kolab river, a tributary of the Godavari.
Hydro Electric Project :
The beautiful Kolab Reservoir, which generates hydroelectric power and is located at an altitude of around 914.4 m (3,000 ft) above sea level on the river Kolab, a branch of the Godavari river, is 646 m (2,119 ft) long and 55 m (180 ft) tall.
The water potential of the river Kolab, a tributary of the Godavari, is being used in this project. The project can generate 95 MW of firm power and 832.2 million units of electricity, which is distributed to the general grid via the Jeypore sub-station.
History :
During British rule, while Koraput district was part of the Madras presidency, a concept for a “Kolab dam project” arose. Odisha’s government investigated independence in 1961. After multiple suggestions from the Odisha government, the project was finally accepted by the planning commission in 1976, and it was finished in 1993.
Tourism :
The Kolab Dam is regarded as Odisha’s most beautiful natural scenic feature. Around 200 species of flowering plants may be found in Kolab Park, a botanical garden near the dam. The Kolab Power Plant, which is located at an altitude of roughly 914.4 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level, is adding to the beauty of the area. Every year, thousands of tourists go to this location for a weekend picnic and boating.
Remuna
Remuna is a town and notified area committee in the Indian state of Odisha’s Baleswar district. It is well-known for its Khirachora Gopinatha Temple.
Demographics:
Remuna had a population of 28,958 people according to the 2001 India census. Males make up 52% of the population, while females make up 48%. Remuna has a literacy rate of 63 percent, which is higher than the national average of 59.5 percent, with male literacy at 69 percent and female literacy at 53 percent. 14 percent of Remuna’s population is under the age of six.
Tourist place:
- Kshirachora Gopinatha Temple is the birthplace of Baladeva Vidyabhushana, an outstanding scholar who preached the Achintya Bhedabheda philosophy among Gaudiya Vaishnavas.
- This is an old Gopinatha temple established by King Langula Narasinha Deba of Utkala in the 12th century. This temple, built in the Utkaliya style of temple building, is flanked by a few Mathas and temples, as well as the main deity Gopinatha.
